About Me

I grew up in Kolkata, India - a city where, without a love of food you'd have few friends. Where a heated discussion on politics can end with deep sighs about large king prawns.

I now live in England with my husband and two-year old daughter. It may be a country whose main claim to culinary fame is fish-and-chips, but it is a lovely little place with good manners.

I'm a creative writer in advertising. You get paid to think, paid to pretend you’re thinking, and then one day, you start thinking you’re thinking. It’s pretty cool.

I love to travel. No, I have to travel.

I love dark, dark, red cherries. And cauliflowers. Though not together. Then again, you never know.

I always take the jacket off a hardcover.

I don’t like soft boiled eggs.

I really enjoy giving makeovers to junk-shop furniture.

I hate books on vampires. TV shows on vampires. Anything vampires.

I feel let down by restaurants with paper napkins.

I like the word gumption. Gumption. Gumption.

Also,

I don't like fineprint. So here goes a little note, in font size 12.

  2. Thanks to my friend who just introduced me to your blog! I also used to "work" as a creative writer with an advertising agency and I too like dark red cherries AND I like to think of food all the time. So it seems we do have things in common :-)
    Good to meet you!

    1. Hello, Prerna :)

I remember stopping by your blog a long time ago. I think there was a photo of your little girl on her dad's shoulder; it had made me smile, and I'd popped you an email - unusual for me.

Welcome to my space. Good to meet you too.
